The best way to measure your finger size when purchasing a ring online is to use a ring sizing tool or ring sizer for the most accurate result. Many jewellery stores offer inexpensive plastic ring sizers that you can order and use at home.

If you don’t have a ring sizer, you can measure using a thin strip of paper or string:

1. Wrap it comfortably around the base of the finger you’ll wear the ring on

2. Mark where the ends meet

3. Measure the length in millimetres

4. Compare it to a ring size chart

For the most accurate sizing, measure your finger at the end of the day when it’s naturally slightly larger, and avoid measuring when your hands are cold, as fingers shrink.

The absolute best option is to visit a local jeweller to have your finger professionally sized, especially if you’re purchasing a thicker band or a statement ring.
